Dreaming of Disney

Written by: Sarah Hanisko, Ph.D.

At the beginning of the year I had the chance to travel to Anaheim, California for work. I decided to spend a day at Disneyland and ultimately ended up buying an annual passport because the plan was that I would be traveling to the area frequently for work.

One day. One day was all I was able to get.

Thankfully, Disneyland Resorts did make the decision to extend AP length times due to COVID-19 but that hasn't stopped me from dreaming of returning to be able to finally experience Rise of Resistance in Galaxy's Edge.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World have continued their expansions throughout the reign of COVID. While Disneyworld has reopened it's parks and a few other sites on property, Disneyland is still attempting a phased re-opening, with Downtown Disney and a portion of Disney California Adventure reopening for dining and shopping only.

All of this has made me think about ways that I can help people prepare for the time when the parks fully re-open and the Disney Nerds are all able to go back to their Laughing Places. In the coming weeks and months I will be launching a series of eLearning courses designed to give you some insight into Walt Disney's history, park development, and planning your own vacations to Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disney Cruise Line. Someday, I may even be able to expand these courses beyond those realms.

So, if you're a Disney fan like me, you can email contact at geekparentingpodcast.com to be added to a mailing list for news and updates on these new Geek Parenting Podcast features.
