A Disney Surprise
Lilly doesn't know it but 18 days at this very hour we will be at Disneyworld. I've been grooming her to be excited. Watching videos, telling her I miss Disney (she does too.) Asking her what she would want to do if we went on a vacation. Needless to say when I wake her up the morning we leave to tell her, I'm sure she'll be overjoyed. If you know me, you know I love Disney. While I always loved going my real obsession with Disney started on my 21st birthday, when my entire family and I traveled to Disneyworld for the first time to celebrate by birthday and my cousin and brother's graduation from high school. This trip will be one filled with many firsts for the both of us.During my last trip to Disneyworld I booked my stay at one of the Disney Vacation Club properties through DVCRentals. I've found this is one of the most cost effective ways to stay on property at top notch resorts. This trip we're staying at Kidani Village with a view of their savannah. There will be plenty of animals to view from our balcony which will be a talking point for some of Lilly's "Dis-Schooling" trip. The first night of our arrival I managed to secure reservations for building Lightsabers at Savi's Workshop in the newly opened Galaxy's Edge. I'm definitely hyped beyond belief. We'll spend a few hours at Hollywood Studios that night. Our next morning is full on Dis-Schooling, where we will be exploring Animal Kingdom. I've created a worksheet for Lilly to work on as we find out more about the animals of Africa and Asia, and take the time to get to know some cast members. In all likelihood we will be finished with AK in the late afternoon and I hope to spend that evening relaxing at Samawati Pool back at Kidani Village. Our last day at Disneyworld will be full of more Dis-Schooling at Epcot, where I plan to take advantage of both the science and culture exhibited at the park. A visit to Norway will build on some of the things she's been learning about the Vikings. Lilly will also have to try some regional cuisines (as it's Food and Wine Festival) and ask the cast members about their homes.Around 3pm we will head back to our hotel for a break because I'm going to surprise Lilly with tickets to her first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We plan on trick-or-treating and having a serious night of fun.But that won't be the end of our fun. The next morning I'm going to slip that we're actually continuing our vacation with four days on the Disney Dream. We will be visiting the Bahamas and Castaway Cay. Lilly has been asking to swim with stingray's so we'll be participating in that encounter at Castaway Cay.I'd love for you to stay tuned for live streaming and highlight videos on our YouTube channel, along with blog posts and recaps here!
