The Endgame Arrives - A Spoiler Free Review of Avengers: Endgame

THE ENDGAME ARRIVES_ A SPOILER FREE REVIEW.pngBy: Dr. Sarah Hanisko, April 29, 2019The Endgame has arrived. After 10 years and 22 movies we see a brilliant and satisfying end to the first book of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I had the opportunity to attend an early opening night screening with a group of fellow geeks who were just as enthusiastic as I was to see the film and no one seemed to leave disappointed. The pace of the storytelling is spot on, not once do you feel like something is being done for exposition, you know where these characters have been and you see their pain at the losses during Infinity War. The soundtrack choices (both instrumental and otherwise) perfectly compliment the moments you see. Every character gets a moment, and I mean every single character. One might expect the film to be full of sadness, but the hope and audacity of our favorite superheroes shines through in the sorrow with moments of humor fit perfectly into the scene. And the finale leaves us with a sense of closure and excitement for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Everyone knows I’m a Marvel nerd, so I am biased in thinking that this film deserves accolades. The acting, writing, cinematography, score, and directing shows a depth perhaps not seen before in superhero films. We have truly reached a “Golden Age of Geekdom” and have been spoiled by the number of stories we get to experience on the big screen, Avengers: Endgame does not disappoint.
